Business

A long history.
A forward view.

My relationship with Wm Clark & Son began on the factory floor at 13. Today, as the fourth generation to lead the business, my focus is on developing the next chapter of its story.

Building on a century of heritage, with a focus on developing our brands, expanding internationally and investing in the technology and systems that will shape our future.

Four generations

A century
of evolution.

Established in 1924 as a blacksmith's workshop in rural Scotland, Wm Clark & Son has evolved through four generations of family ownership.

Each generation has adapted the business to changing industries, technologies and opportunities.

Today, that same willingness to evolve continues through advanced manufacturing, original engineering products and international markets.

Modern manufacturing

Rural roots. Global reach.

Built in Scotland.
Working worldwide.

Our roots remain firmly in rural Scotland, where four generations of our family have built and developed the business.

Today, our products operate in international markets, supported by the relationships, brands and distribution networks we've developed around the world.

There's something particularly rewarding about seeing products manufactured in our corner of Scotland working successfully for customers thousands of miles away.

The approach

Building a
better business.

Revenue and profitability are essential measures of business success. They don't tell the entire story.

How a business operates matters just as much to me: its resilience, the quality of its systems, the people and culture behind it, and how rewarding it is to run.

My ambition is to build an organisation capable of achieving more without continually becoming more complicated to operate.

01

Build capacity intelligently.

Investing in automation, efficient processes and flexible production models that allow the business to respond to changing demand without unnecessary complexity.

02

Create resilient systems.

Developing capable teams, clear processes and an organisation that can continue performing as markets, technology and circumstances evolve.

03

Grow without losing what matters.

Pursuing commercial ambition while protecting the culture, independence and qualities that make the business rewarding to own and operate.
